Core 2
Core 2 is Intel's latest x86 architecture, it is based around a 65nm process and is available as both dual core and quad core processors.

Conroe
- The first core 2 based processors
- 2MB and 4MB L2 cache
- Socket LGA 775
- Very Overclockable
- Available from 1.86ghz to 2.67ghz
- 6300 and 6400 are stripped down versions with half of the cache locked
- Range is:

- Only Conroe XE processor is the X6800, which runs at 2.93ghz
- Unlocked multiplier
- Extremely overclockable

Allendale
- 2MB and 1MB of L2 cache
- E4xx0 and E21xx processors
- Quad pumped 200mhz FSB
- E6300 and E6400 sometimes referred to as Allendale however they are not true Allendales as they are simply conroes with half of the cache disabled.

- T5x00 series have 2mb shared L2 cache, T7x00 have 4mb.
